Citi Ventures Joins Visa in Strategic Investment in Stablecoin Platform BVNK
Citi Ventures, the investment arm of Citigroup, has made a strategic investment in BVNK, a stablecoin payments platform. This MOVE follows Visa's own investment in BVNK earlier this year. The exact size of the investments remains undisclosed.
The stablecoin sector has emerged as a standout performer in digital assets, buoyed by regulatory clarity in key markets like the U.S. and Hong Kong. BVNK processes over $20 billion in annual payments, serving clients including Worldpay and Flywire.
"Stablecoins are seeing increased interest for settlement of on-chain and crypto asset transactions," said Arvind Purushotham of Citi Ventures. The investments signal growing TradFi confidence in blockchain-based payment solutions.
